(Milwaukee, WI) — When the Brewers got two more top prospects in the Freddy Peralta trade, the front office bolstered what was already a top farm system. Now, it is apparently THE top farm system. Multiple sources rank Milwaukee’s minor leaguers the best in professional baseball. Tampa Bay and Los Angeles had occupied the top of the rankings in the past, but the Brewers have moved on up.

(Newark, NJ) — Marquette will try to build off its lopsided win over Creighton when it travels to Seton Hall for a game Saturday morning. The Pirates won the first Big East Conference game between the teams last month in Milwaukee, 79-73. The Golden Eagles have received a boost from one of the top freshmen in the country – guard Nigel James Junior. He was named Big East freshman of the week Monday after scoring 53 points in two games and chipping in 16 assists.

(Green Bay, WI) — The exodus of assistant coaches from the Green Bay Packers isn’t over yet. ACME Packing Company-dot-com reports that quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion has left to become the Philadelphia Eagles’ offensive coordinator. The Packers had lost a lot of defensive coaching talent since the season ended, but Mannion is the first offensive assistant to defect. The Miami Dolphins have a strong Green Bay look since former Packers coach Nathaniel Hackett is reportedly going to be that team’s quarterbacks coach.

CRANS-MONTANA, Switzerland (AP) — Lindsey Vonn crashed in her final downhill before the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics on Friday and was left limping and applying attention to her left knee. Vonn lost control when landing a jump in a World Cup race and ended up tangled in the safety nets. She eventually got up after receiving medical attention and walked away gingerly, taking weight off her left knee and using her poles to steady herself. She then clicked her skis back on but stopped to check her left knee. The race was later canceled after three of the first six racers crashed.
