GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Over the last couple of seasons, the Green Bay Packers have produced the two youngest playoff teams of the last 45 years. They believe they’re now experienced enough to take the next step as they chase this franchise’s first Super Bowl berth since the 2010 championship season. Green Bay still has plenty of youth. The only Packers in their 30s are 33-year-old kicker Brandon McManus and 30-year-old long snapper Matt Orzech. But it’s a more tested group than the Packers had the last couple of years.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Minnesota redshirt freshman Drake Lindsey grew up with Arkansas blood running through his veins. His grandfather played football at Arkansas before being drafted by the Minnesota Vikings. His uncle played tight end for the Razorbacks, his dad was a wide receiver for them, his cousin played quarterback for the Hogs, and another uncle also played quarterback. So after finishing his high school career with a state championship and throwing for nearly 4,000 yards and 54 touchdowns with only three interceptions in his senior season, it seemed like a no-brainer he’d be lighting up Razorback Stadium. But his hometown college never made him an offer.
CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) — Hulk Hogan, the mustachioed, headscarf-wearing icon in the world of professional wrestling, has died at age 71. Police in Clearwater, Florida, say authorities responded to a call about a cardiac arrest. No foul play is suspected. Hogan’s real name was Terry Bollea, and he was perhaps the biggest star in WWE’s long history. He was the main draw for the first WrestleMania in 1985 and was a fixture for years, facing everyone from Andre the Giant and Randy Savage to The Rock and even company chairman Vince McMahon. Hogan was also a celebrity outside the wrestling world, appearing in movies and TV shows, including a reality show on VH1, “Hogan Knows Best.”
