MILWAUKEE (AP) — Giannis Antetokounmpo had 24 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists as the Milwaukee Bucks snapped a three-game skid with a 126-106 victory over the short-handed Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday. The Bucks withstood a 45-point, 11-rebound performance from Luka Doncic. Doncic had 29 points by halftime. Austin Reaves added 28 points and eight rebounds for Los Angeles. The Lakers lost their third straight. Los Angeles’ LeBron James missed a second straight game due to a left groin strain. The Lakers also were missing Jaxson Hayes and Rui Hachimura.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Nolan Winter and John Tonje each scored 18 points to lead No. 18 Wisconsin to a 70-63 victory over Northwestern in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament. The Badgers, seeded fifth, will face No. 4 seed UCLA in Friday’s quarterfinals. Nick Martinelli led the No. 13 seed Wildcats with 22 points. The Badgers shot 41.5% from the field while holding the Wildcats to 37%. Free throws were nearly even with the Wildcats making 18 of 22 while the Badgers were 18 of 23.
The UCLA Bruins and No. 18 Wisconsin Badgers play in the Big Ten Tournament. Friday’s game is the second meeting this season between the two teams. The Bruins won the last matchup 85-83. UCLA is 13-7 against the Big Ten, and Wisconsin is 14-7 against the Big Ten.

NEW YORK (AP) — Kam Jones scored 28 points to surpass 2,000 for his career and No. 25 Marquette rallied past Xavier 89-87 in the Big East Tournament quarterfinals. After trailing by 14 early in the second half, the fifth-seeded Golden Eagles took the lead for good at 81-80 on Jones’ layup with 1:16 remaining. David Joplin connected on a pivotal 3-pointer with 26 seconds left, and Marquette held on to earn a semifinal matchup with sixth-ranked and top-seeded St. John’s on Friday night at Madison Square Garden. Ryan Conwell scored a career-high 38 points for Xavier, a school record for a Big East Tournament game. The fourth-seeded Musketeers, perched precariously on the bubble for an NCAA Tournament bid, had won seven straight.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Braden Schneider scored at 1:51 of overtime to give the New York Rangers a 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Thursday night. Schneider slipped a backhander past goalie Filip Gustavsson into the top-right corner to end New York’s four-game losing streak. Vincent Trocheck and Jonny Brodzinski also scored, and Igor Shesterkin made 26 saves. Marcus Johansson and Frederick Gaudreau had tying power-play goals for Minnesota in the third period. Gustavsson stopped 28 shots. The Wild top the Western Conference wild-card standings. Trocheck opened the scoring at 6:45 of second with his 18th of the season. Johansson tied it with the man advantage at 3:55 of third, Brodzinski countered at 6:39, and Gaudreau tied it again on another power play at 8:42.
