(Pontiac, MI) — Fourth downs belonged to the Packers as they completed a season sweep of the Detroit Lions 31-24. Lions coach Dan Campbell has built a reputation of “going for it” on fourth down plays, but it was Green Bay doing that kind of damage Thursday. Jordan Love completed two of his four touchdown passes on fourth downs. And, his fourth-down completion to Dontayvion Wicks in the closing minutes clinched the victory. Detroit also failed to make it on a pair of fourth-down plays. Micah Parsons had two-and-a-half sacks as the Packers won a third straight game. They host the Bears next week.
DETROIT (AP) — Detroit wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and Green Bay defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt had ankle injuries in the Packers’ 31-24 win over the Lions on Thursday. St. Brown limped off the field and toward the locker room in the first quarter. He was injured after two Detroit lineman rolled into the receiver’s legs while he was blocking. The two-time All-Pro has 75 catches for 884 yards and nine touchdowns. Wyatt was carted off the field late in the game. The fourth-year pro had four tackles against the Lions, and has four sacks this season.
