(Los Angeles, CA) — Dodgers pitching was dominant again in a 3-1 win over the Brewers Thursday night. Los Angeles is one victory away from a sweep and a return to the World Series. Milwaukee batters are hitting just .101 and have been held to three runs in three games. Jacob Misiorowski took the loss, and Jake Bauers singled in the Brewers’ only run. Jose Quintana is scheduled to start tonight’s (Friday’s) game for Milwaukee.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Milwaukee Brewers leadoff hitter Jackson Chourio hopped off the field with cramping in his right hamstring during Game 3 of the National League Championship Series. The 21-year-old right fielder was batting against Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Blake Treinen in the seventh inning when he fouled off a pitch and couldn’t put any weight on his right leg. Chourio said he felt good after the game and believes he can play on Friday. The Brewers lost 3-1 and face elimination in Game 4 of the best-of-seven series. Chourio hopped off on his left leg and was replaced by Blake Perkins, who struck out swinging for the final out of the seventh with Milwaukee trailing 3-1.

SEATTLE (AP) — Max Scherzer turned back the clock with a vintage pitching performance and Andrés Giménez homered and drove in four runs as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Seattle Mariners 8-2 to even the American League Championship Series at two games apiece. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. hit his fifth homer this postseason and the 41-year-old Scherzer allowed two runs in 5 2/3 innings for the Blue Jays, who have outscored the Mariners 21-6 in Seattle after losing the first two games at home. Game 5 in the best-of-seven series is Friday, with Kevin Gausman scheduled to start for Toronto against Game 1 winner Bryce Miller.

(Milwaukee, WI) — The Bucks have made a four-year, 45-million-dollar commitment to shooting guard A-J Green. The contract extension was reported by ESPN Thursday. The 26-year-old earned a starting spot during last year’s playoffs. He is one of the best 3-point shooters in the NBA, having hit more than 42 percent of his long shots over his three-year career.

(Madison, WI) — The Badgers aren’t given much chance to take down the number-one-ranked Buckeyes at home this weekend. They are buried in a four-game losing streak, and Ohio State is favored by nearly four touchdowns. Though the overall results have been disappointing, some individual players are having good seasons. Junior linebacker Christian Alliegro leads the team with 42 tackles and is on pace to top that category for a second straight year. Cornerback Ricardo Hallman picked off the ninth interception of his career against Iowa. He is in the program’s top 10.

(Green Bay, WI) — Packers superstar Micah Parsons could be fined for his Thursday comments about NFL officiating. The All-Pro defender says calls are made to favor the offense because crowds like to see points scored. Parsons says offsides is called on the defense but rarely on the offense. Same story for pass interference and holding. He says he hasn’t gotten a call himself in “five years.” He also points out that the league’s player safety concerns are much more focused on offensive players. The Packers travel to Arizona to meet the Cardinals Sunday.

The Philadelphia Eagles take a two-game losing streak to Minnesota to face the Vikings. The Eagles are 4-2. They never lost consecutive games last season on their way to winning the Super Bowl. The Eagles haven’t beaten the Vikings in Minnesota since the wild-card round of the 2008-09 playoffs. They beat Minnesota at home in 2022 and 2023. The Vikings are 3-2 after their bye week. Their run defense has slipped after ranking second in the NFL last season. Eagles running back Saquon Barkley has also been quiet after winning the 2024 AP Offensive Player of the Year award.
