Peyton Watson had 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists for the Nuggets. Over his team’s past seven games, the fourth-year guard has been averaging 23.7 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Zeke Nnaji added 14 points and 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. Denver was without five of its top eight scorers, including Nikola Jokic (bone bruise in left knee) and Jamal Murray (sprained left ankle). Giannis Antetokounmpo had 31 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds for the Bucks. Myles Turner scored 16 points while Bobby Portis and AJ Green added 14 apiece.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Anthony Edwards banked in a go-ahead, 3-foot runner with 16.8 seconds and the Minnesota Timberwolves overcame a 19-point deficit to beat the San Antonio Spurs 104-103 on Sunday night. Edwards scored 23 points. Julius Randle had 15 points, eight rebounds and the winning defensive possession against Victor Wembanyama, who had 29 points in 27 minutes in his return to San Antonio’s starting lineup. The 7-foot-4 Frenchman had trouble shedding Randle and his upper-body strength, clanking a 16-foot jumper with 6.6 seconds to go. De’Aaron Fox’s 3-point heave near the buzzer missed, too, sending the Minnesota crowd into a frenzy after the back-and-forth finish between two of the top teams in the Western Conference.
(Chicago, IL) — The Chicago Bears have established a record of coming from behind to win NFL games near the end. They made the Packers their latest victims Saturday, 31-27, in an NFL Wild Card game. Caleb Williams threw a 25-yard scoring pass with 1:43 remaining to end Green Bay’s season. The Packers had jumped out to a 21-3 halftime lead but couldn’t hold it. Jordan Love passed for 323 yards and four touchdowns, but couldn’t bring his team back after a second-half collapse. The Bears have won seven games where they trailed with two minutes left in a game. Green Bay closes the season on a five-game losing streak, ending with a record of 9-8-and-1.
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur is more interested in talking about his team’s future than his own. LaFleur spoke to reporters Sunday, a day after the biggest playoff collapse in the franchise’s storied history. He says he spoke briefly with team president and CEO Ed Policy on the flight back to Green Bay after the Packers’ 31-27 loss to the Chicago Bears in an NFC wild-card playoff game Saturday night. But he declined to comment on whether he expected to keep his job after the Packers made their third straight playoff appearance but lost their final five games.

Minnesota made 6 of 12 free throws in the fourth quarter, 4 of 8 in the last 73 seconds. But USC had seven turnovers in the final period, which the Golden Gophers turned into eight points as they built a seven-point lead with 41 seconds left. Kara Dunn scored eight points in the final 31 seconds, including a 3-pointer at the buzzer for the Trojans. Dunn finished with 27 points, including all 14 USC points in the fourth quarter.
(Ann Arbor, MI) — The Badgers were able to upset number-two-ranked Michigan Saturday by a 91-88 score. They became the first Big Ten team to hit 15 three-pointers in a road game. John Blackwell led the way with 26 points, and Nick Boyd scored 22. For Wisconsin coach Greg Gard, it was the seventh time in the last 10 seasons for his team to upset a Top-10 opponent – and that’s tops in the nation. The Badgers travel to Minnesota for another conference game Tuesday.
(Milwaukee, WI) — Marquette fell just short in its upset bid against Villanova Saturday, 76-73. Freshman Nigel James Junior scored 31 points, connecting on 7-of-9 3-pointers.
