Sonny Gray pitched 6 1/3 shutout innings, and the Boston Red Sox took advantage of three walks and two infield hits to score three times in the third inning on Wednesday and beat Milwaukee 5-0. Gray (2-0) allowed three hits and two walks, striking out two. Shane Drohan took the loss in his major league debut, giving up three runs on three hits and four walks — most of it in the third, when he walked both Andruw Monasterio and Caleb Durbin, two of the players he was traded for in February. The Brewers are off today and will take on the Washington Nationals Tomorrow.

Byron Buxton had three hits and the Minnesota Twins batted around in a six-run first inning against Framber Valdez before holding off the Detroit Tigers 8-6 on Wednesday night. Bailey Ober (1-0) allowed two runs in 5 2/3 innings for the Twins. Cody Laweryson struck out two in 1 1/3 innings before Kody Funderburk got two outs for his third career save and first this season. The Twins will next be in action tonight against Detroit.

Cade Cunningham had 13 points and 10 assists in his return from injury as the Detroit Pistons beat the Milwaukee Bucks 137-111 in their home finale on Wednesday night.Cunningham hadn’t played since sustaining a collapsed lung in a win against the Washington Wizards on March 17th. Jalen Duren added 21 points and nine rebounds as the Pistons won for the sixth time in eight games. Jericho Sims had a triple-double 11 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists while Ryan Rollins scored 23 points for Milwaukee, which has lost 10 of its last 13 games. The Bucks will host Brooklyn on Friday.

Paolo Banchero had 20 points and eight rebounds, Desmond Bane added 18 points and six assists and the Orlando Magic beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 132-120 on Wednesday night. Terrence Shannon Jr. led the Timberwolves with a career-high 33 points. Jaden McDaniels, back in the lineup after missing six games with a left knee injury, added 18 points in 19 minutes. The Timberwolves will host Houston on Friday.
