(Milwaukee, WI) — Bobby Portis connected on a jump shot from the free throw line with 20 seconds remaining to give the Bucks a 118-116 win over Cleveland Wednesday night. The Cavaliers were going without three players, including James Harden and Giannis Antetokounmpo missed his 13th straight game. Kevin Porter Junior led Milwaukee with 20 points, and Ryan Rollins had 18. The Bucks are at home Friday night for a game with the New York Knicks.
(Eugene, OR) — The shots weren’t falling in Wisconsin’s 85-71 Big Ten loss at Oregon Wednesday night. The Badgers hit just 33 percent from the field. John Blackwell was the top scorer with 22 points. UW led by three at half, 33-30, but was outscored 55-38 the rest of the way. Its record falls to 19-and-9, with the next game Saturday against the Washington Huskies.

(Phoenix, AZ) — Second baseman Brice Turang went deep twice in Wednesday’s 13-12 win by the Brewers. Milwaukee and San Francisco combined for a dozen runs in a wild fourth inning. Turang drove in five runs. He is set to play for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic next month. Aaron Ashby starts for Milwaukee this afternoon (Thursday) against the Texas Rangers.
(Indianapolis, IN) — The Packers have traded away their first-round draft pick, but that doesn’t mean the team will ignore the college prospects expected to go early. Packers Wire-dot-com reports that Green Bay traded first-rounders as part of the deal for edge rusher Micah Parsons. General manager Brian Gutekunst says his staff will still do its homework because a trade is possible – or one of those players might become available down the line.
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The Dallas Stars surged into the Olympic break on a six-game winning streak. The Minnesota Wild won their last five games to finish 8-1-1 before the NHL’s three-week schedule pause. Both teams have maintained top-five records in the league for much of the season, and they’ve constantly been trying to catch the NHL-leading Colorado Avalanche. Colorado took a five-point lead on Minnesota and a six-point lead on Dallas into the break after leading by 12 points on Jan. 11. The three teams combined to send 23 players to the Olympics.
