(Milwaukee, WI) – The short handed Bucks didn’t have enough to defeat the reigning champs, falling 122-102 to the Oklahoma City Thunder Wednesday night. Milwaukee was without Myles Turner due to an ankle injury a Kevin Porter Junior, who was out with an oblique injury. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 19 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists. Porter’s injury meant an increased role for Cole Anthony, who finished with 17 points of the bench. Reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander poured in 40 points and added 11 assists and 7 rebounds for OKC in the victory. The Bucks are back in action Friday when the Denver Nuggets come to the Fiserv Forum.
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee Bucks coach Doc Rivers says Kevin Porter Jr. is “not going to play anytime soon” from an oblique strain that made him unavailable for a Wednesday night game with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Rivers didn’t specify a potential return date for Porter. Rivers said he believes the injury happened “three or four games ago” and that Porter had attempted to play through it. Porter has averaged 16.8 points, five rebounds and a team-high 7.4 assists over 28 games this season. He ranks second on the team in scoring.
(Madison, WI) – The Wisconsin women’s basketball team earned its second victory over a ranked opponent this year with a 63-60 win over #24 Nebraska at the Kohl Center Wednesday night. Gift Uchenna notched her third double double of the season in the win, finishing with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Kyra Daniels added 19 points and Ronnie Porter scored 10. The Badgers shot 45.5% from the field and more than 33% from the three point line in the win. The Badgers will look for their third straight win when they head to Minnesota on Sunday.

(Milwaukee, WI) – Milwaukee Brewers ace right handed Freddy Peralta is headed to the big apple as the Mets have acquired the pitcher in a trade. The Brewers will get two of the Mets top prospects in return; Jett Williams and Brandon Sproat. Williams is a shortstop and is the #30 overall prospect according to MLB Pipeline’s rankings. Sproat, a pitcher, is the Mets #5 prospect but wasn’t ranked in MLB Pipeline’s top 100. Tobias Myers will also head to the Mets in the deal. Peralta will finish his time with the third-highest career strikeout total and the 10th most starts by a Brewers pitcher.
(Green Bay, WI) – Another day, another interview for the Green Bay Packers open defensive coordinator position. This time it was former Packer Pro-Bowl defensive back Al Harris. Harris is currently with the Chicago Bears as their defensive backs coach and defensive pass game coordinator. Since retiring, Harris has had coaching stints in Miami, Kansas City, Dallas and Chicago. Harris retired from the Packers in 2013 and in 2021 he was inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame.
EAGAN, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings have signed Brian Flores to a contract extension that ensures the defensive coordinator will return for the 2026 season if he is not hired as a head coach. The Vikings have allowed an average of 19.2 points in Flores’ first three seasons as defensive coordinator, the second-fewest in the NFL. The Vikings allowed an average of only 105.4 rushing yards per games from 2023 to ’25, the fifth-fewest in the league, including a league-low 3.9 yards per rush. The Vikings’ 147 plays of 20 or more yards allowed the last three years lead the league.
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Marie-Philip Poulin scored a goal in overtime on Wednesday night and the Montreal Victoire beat the Minnesota Frost 2-1. Maureen Murphy also had a goal for Montreal (5-3-0-5). Ann-Renée Desbiens had 20 saves. After the Frost pulled goaltender Nicole Hensley, Kelly Pannek scored a goal that made it 1-1 with 1:02 left in regulation for Minnesota (5-2-3-3), which has lost four of its last five. Poulin, working from right to left, turned her back to the net and flicked a back-hand shot inside the post with 1:57 left in overtime. Poulin also scored in overtime to help Montreal beat the Frost 3-2 at home Jan. 4.
