The Mavericks were without rookie No. 1 pick Cooper Flagg, who sat for left ankle injury management on the first night of a back-to-back. Klay Thompson sat with left knee soreness for Dallas. The Mavericks are without 10-time All-Star Anthony Davis due to a hand injury. Star guard Kyrie Irving hasn’t played all season after tearing an ACL last March. (Milwaukee, WI) — Just a week ago, Giannis Antetokounmpo was firm when he said he’s staying in Milwaukee, and the team was denying any plans to trade him. Now, ESPN reports the two-time MVP says he’s “ready for a new home” with the NBA trade deadline just a week away. There’s no official report that the player has requested a trade. The Bucks could wait until the offseason to maximize what they can get back in a trade.
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — John Blackwell scored 23 points, including Wisconsin’s last seven points in the final minute, and the Badgers rallied to defeat short-handed Minnesota 67-63. (Green Bay, WI) — The Packers are reportedly bringing a big name to the coaching staff. The NFL Network reports that Bobby Babich will be Green Bay’s new defensive pass game coordinator and secondary coach. He comes from the Buffalo Bills. Babich is a high-profile addition with his history as a defensive coordinator. He was interviewed for that position two years ago.
(Madison, WI) — The 2026 Wisconsin football Big Ten schedule looks a lot better. Last year’s conference lineup was brutal and was a big factor in the 4-and-8 record. The numbers show that six of the Badgers’ nine conference opponents in the fall won three or fewer Big Ten games last season. The Journal Sentinel reviewed the league schedule released this week. Penn State has the second easiest schedule, but it’s much tougher than Wisconsin’s. Ohio State faces the hardest conference schedule, based on the 2025 records.
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Veteran catcher Reese McGuire has signed a minor league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers that includes an invitation to major league camp. McGuire turns 31 on March 2. He has hit .248 with a .293 on-base percentage, 25 homers and 106 RBIs in 399 career games with the Toronto Blue Jays, Chicago White Sox, Boston Red Sox and Cubs.
