HOUSTON (AP) — Taj Bradley struck out 11 to tie his career high, Josh Bell, Kody Clemens and Luke Keaschall homered and the Minnesota Twins beat the Houston Astros 8-3 on Wednesday night. Bradley (7-3) allowed a run and four hits and walked four in five innings. After Jose Altuve scored from third base when Isaac Paredes grounded into a double play in the first inning, Bradley recorded 10 consecutive outs by strikeout. Bell has a career-high 16-game road hitting streak, the longest active streak of its kind in the majors. Trevor Larnach went 3 for 5 with a double and a two-run single. The Twins have won three consecutive road series for the first time May of 2025.
(Milwaukee, WI) — The Bucks have signed another promising big man to a multi-year contract. NBA-dot-com reports forward Bogoljub Markovic reached agreement with the team on a deal announced Wednesday. Markovic played 30 games last season with the Mega Basket team in Serbia’s Adriatic League. He was named MVP after producing 19 points and nine rebounds per game. He was also named the league’s top prospect for the second straight year.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier has returned to practice with the team to move closer to her 2026 debut following offseason surgery on both ankles. The five-time All-Star had the procedure done in March. Collier injured her left ankle in Game 3 of the 2025 WNBA semifinals against Phoenix to prematurely end her season. The No. 1 seed Lynx lost the series to the Mercury in five games. Collier averaged a career-high 22.9 points per game last season and finished second in league MVP voting in each of the last two years. Minnesota is off to a league-leading 15-4 start.

The job fairs will be held at the Johnsonville Tailgate Village July 7th and 21st from 4:00 to 6:00 p-m each day. Job listings are available online, and people can also apply online.
(Madison, WI) — The University of Wisconsin confirmed Wednesday that it has hired Shawn Eichorst to be its new athletic director. Eichorst is a native of Lone Rock, Wisconsin, played college football at UW-Whitewater, got his law degree from Marquette, and was on Barry Alvarez’s staff from 2006 to 2011. He comes to Madison from the University of Texas, where he was deputy athletic director and chief operating officer.
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Folarin Balogun scored his third goal of the World Cup before being sent off with a red card in the second half, and Malik Tillman converted on a free kick to give the 10-man United States squad a 2-0 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina to advance to the round of 16. Balogun dominated the first half with his goal and several other chances that helped the U.S. control the match early but the Americans had to scramble down a man after his foul against Tarik Muharemovic in the 64th minute. Tillman helped seal the win when he scored on a free kick from just outside the box in the 82nd minute.
SEATTLE (AP) — Belgium stages a dramatic comeback to beat Senegal 3-2 in the World Cup. Senegal led 2-0 with just five minutes left, but late goals by Romelu Lukaku and Youri Tielemans pushed the match into extra time. Tielemans then scored a penalty in the 125th minute, marking the latest goal in World Cup history. The referee awarded the penalty after a video review, despite protests from Senegal. This win marks the second time in 11 World Cups that a team has overcome a two-goal deficit in the knockout round. Belgium will face the United States.
ATLANTA (AP) — Harry Kane scored two second-half goals to help England rally for a 2-1 victory over Congo and a spot in the round of 16 at the World Cup. England’s all-time leading scorer evened the contest with a header after Brian Cipenga had given Congo a surprising halftime lead. Kane then scored the decisive goal into the top corner in the 86th minute at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. For much of the game, England looked to be headed for one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history. The 1966 World Cup champions will next play co-host Mexico in the round of 16 in Mexico City on Sunday.
