DENVER (AP) — Anthony Edwards scored 30 points, Julius Randle added 24 and the Minnesota Timberwolves rallied past the Denver Nuggets 119-114 to tie their Western Conference playoff series at one game apiece. Jamal Murray led Denver with 30 points and Nikola Jokic had 24 but they combined to go 2 for 12 from the field in the fourth quarter. Denver had won 13 straight since losing on March 18. The best-of-seven series shifts to Minneapolis for Game 3 on Thursday night.

(Milwaukee, WI) — Early frontrunners to be the next head coach for the Bucks have been named. ESPN reports general manager Jon Horst has opened a wide-ranging search. Current Bucks assistant Darvin Ham and former Memphis Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins are named among the frontrunners for the job. Behind the Buck Pass-dot-com reports the team is looking for a younger bench leader this time. Doc Rivers was 62 when he took the job.

DALLAS (AP) — Wyatt Johnston had two goals and Matt Duchene scored a tiebreaking power-play goal as the Dallas Stars beat the Minnesota Wild 4-2 in Game 2 to even their Western Conference first-round playoff series at a game apiece. The Stars went ahead to stay with a power play winding down about four minutes into the second period when Duchene scored. Dallas goalie Jake Oettinger made 28 saves, one on a point-blank shot by Kirill Kaprizov with 2 1/2 minutes to play when the Wild were on a power play. Johnston then added an empty-netter. Brock Faber scored his first two playoff goals for Minnesota.

(Detroit, MI) — Lefty Kyle Harrison will get the start as the Brewers open a three-game series in Detroit. Tigers have been winners eight times in the last nine games. Milwaukee is playing without some of its most important players – like Christian Yelich, Jackson Chourio, Andrew Vaughn, Quinn Priester, and Jared Koenig. All of those injured players are expected to return to action sometime next month.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins have placed right-hander Mick Abel on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation. The move was made retroactive to Friday. The 24-year-old Abel is 1-2 with a 3.98 ERA in four games, including three starts. He set a career high with 10 strikeouts over seven innings in a 6-0 win over Boston on Tuesday night. Abel has not allowed a run in 14 consecutive innings. The Twins will make a corresponding roster move before Tuesday night’s game at the Mets. Abel was acquired from the Philadelphia Phillies at last year’s trade deadline for closer Jhoan Duran.

(Green Bay, WI) — The Packers have released three players while getting ready for this week’s 2026 NFL Draft. That opens up three spots on the 90-man roster in case the team wants to make some moves. Green Bay doesn’t have a pick in the draft until Friday. Packers Wire-dot-com reports the three players set free are tight end McCallan Castles, cornerback Tyron Herring, and linebacker Jamon Johnson.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Steelers are still waiting for Aaron Rodgers to decide whether he wants to return for a 22nd season. Steelers general manager Omar Khan says the club remains in frequent communication with the four-time MVP, who led Pittsburgh to an AFC North title last season. Rodgers’ status is unlikely to play a significant role in the club’s strategy when the NFL draft descends on the Steel City this week. The Steelers will head into the draft with 12 picks, including the 21st overall selection in the first round.

(Madison, WI) — The Wisconsin men’s basketball program shot an airball in its attempt to recruit the state’s top high school player. Three-star forward Zavier Zens was named the state’s “Mr. Basketball” for this season. He has committed to play for Illinois. Zens averaged almost 24 points, nearly five-and-a-half rebounds, and four-and-a-half assists for Wisconsin Lutheran.
