(Milwaukee, WI) — A sudden total power outage is a big factor in the Brewers losing five of their last seven games. In those games, Milwaukee failed to hit the ball out of the ballpark even once. The last time the team went seven straight games without a homer was 27 years ago. The Arizona Diamondbacks visit American Family Field tonight (Tuesday) to start a three-game series. Starting pitcher Chad Patrick is probably hoping one of his teammates will power up and give him a little offensive support.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Kody Clemens homered and drove in five runs, Byron Buxton also went deep and Connor Prielipp earned his first big league win as the Minnesota Twins beat the Seattle Mariners 11-4. Prielipp (1-0) entered the season as the Twins’ No. 5 prospect, according to MLB.com. He was called up from Triple-A St. Paul and made his MLB debut against the Mets on Wednesday. Against the Mariners, the 25-year-old left-hander gave up two runs on one hit with three walks and five strikeouts. Luis Castillo (0-2) gave up seven runs on seven hits over five innings for the Mariners. Cal Raleigh hit his seventh homer of the season and Randy Arozarena added two hits.
DENVER (AP) — Nikola Jokic snapped out of his prolonged funk with a triple-double, Spencer Jones provided a key spark and the Denver Nuggets staved off elimination with a chippy 125-113 win over the injury-riddled Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5 of their playoff series. Jokic had 27 points, 16 assists and 12 rebounds for Denver, which trimmed its deficit to 3-2 in the best-of-seven series. Jamal Murray scored 24 points and Jones added 20. Jokic posted his 23rd playoff triple-double, third on the career list, as the Nuggets stopped a three-game skid and played the way they did most of the regular season in securing the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference. Game 6 is Thursday night in Minneapolis.
(Milwaukee, WI) — The quick hiring of Taylor Jenkins as the Bucks’ new head coach seems to indicate general manager Jon Horst’s job is safe. There had been speculation after the just-completed 32-and-50 season. Behind the Buck Pass speculates Milwaukee’s ownership wouldn’t let Horst fill such an important position, then cut ties with him. This year’s draft is important. The last three players drafted by the Bucks are no longer on the roster.
(Green Bay, WI) — The Packers front office hopes the team won’t have to get so deep in enemy territory to be a scoring threat next season. Florida’s Trey Smack was rated the best college kicker available in the draft, and Green Bay took him in the sixth round. Dairyland Express reports that, while kicking for the Gators, Smack was 10-of-13 from beyond 50 yards during his college career. Brandon McManus was solid in his first year with the Packers, but injuries broke him down last season, and some of his misses were game-changers.
(Madison, WI) — One of the major criticisms of head coach Luke Fickell and his staff centers on a failure to recruit in-state players. Bro Bible-dot-com reports that only 10 of the 74 players signed to play football for Wisconsin in the Fickell years were homegrown. For the first time since 1978, not one Badger player was taken in last week’s 2026 NFL Draft. Six players from the Badger State were taken, but they had played their football at other colleges.
