(Atlanta, GA) — The Bucks blew a 23-point lead in the fourth period but still managed to hold off the Atlanta Hawks Monday night 112-110. That snapped a three-game losing streak. Giannis Antetokounmpo had a double-double with 21 points and 17 rebounds in the victory. Back-to-back 3-pointers by A-J Green and Bobby Portis in the closing moments gave Milwaukee the offense it needed to claim the win. The Bucks will host Oklahoma City Wednesday night.
(Milwaukee, WI) — Marquette freshman Nigel James Junior scored a career-high 38 points, but it was Ben Gold’s free throw in overtime that produced a 105-104 win over Providence. The Friars trailed the Big East game by 10 at halftime but were up by three with two seconds left in regulation. James was fouled on a 3-point attempt and made good on all three free throws. Marquette is back in action Friday at Butler.
Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo, Oklahoma City’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Denver’s Nikola Jokic, the Los Angeles Lakers’ Luka Doncic, Golden State’s Stephen Curry, New York’s Jalen Brunson, Detroit’s Cade Cunningham, Philadelphia’s Tyrese Maxey, Boston’s Jaylen Brown and San San Antonio’s Victor Wembanyama were announced as NBA All-Star starters Monday. The game is Feb. 15 in Inglewood, California. LeBron James wasn’t picked as a starter and his record streak of All-Star selections is now in some question. This is the first year the NBA will use a U.S. vs. The World mini-tournament format for the game.

(Miami, FL) — The Packers are in the market for a new defensive coordinator after the departure of assistant coach Jeff Hafley, who was hired by the Miami Dolphins. He will be the head coach. Hafley’s efforts have given Green Bay its most effective defensive efforts in recent seasons over the past two years. The Packers were 12th in total defense and 11th in scoring defense during the 2025 season. Hafley replaces Mike McDaniel as the Dolphins’ head coach.
(Pittsburgh, PA) — Former Packers coach Mike McCarthy is ready to go back to work after taking a year off. ESPN reports McCarthy has an interview with the Pittsburgh Steelers this week. He has already talked with the Tennessee Titans. McCarthy was idle this past NFL season after being fired by the Dallas Cowboys. The 62-year-old coach led Green Bay for 13 seasons.
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Fernando Mendoza bulldozed his way into the end zone and Indiana bullied its way into the history books Monday night. The Hoosiers toppled Miami 27-21 to put the finishing touch on a rags-to-riches story, an undefeated season and the national title. The Heisman Trophy winner finished with 186 yards passing, but it was his tackle-breaking, sprawled-out 12-yard touchdown run on fourth-and-4 with 9:18 left that defined this game. Mendoza’s TD gave turnaround artist Curt Cignetti’s team a 10-point lead — barely enough breathing room to hold off a frenzied charge by the hard-hitting Hurricanes.
TORONTO (AP) — Marcus Foligno had his first NHL hat trick to double his season goals total, Vladimir Tarasenko scored twice and the Minnesota Wild beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-3 on Monday night. The 34-year-old Foligno in the second period at even strength and on a power play, then into an empty net in the third. Ryan Hartman added a goal and an assist, and Kirill Kaprizov and defensemen Quinn Hughes and Brock Faber each had two assists. Filip Gustavsson stopped 27 shots. The Wild have won two straight to open a three-game trip after being swept on a three-game homestand. They beat Buffalo 5-4 in overtime Saturday. Auston Matthews scored his 25th goal of the season and had an assist for Toronto.
