(Indianapolis, IN) — Giannis Antetokounmpo connected on a 17-foot jumper to give the Bucks a 135-133 win over Indiana Monday night. Antetokounmpo filled the stat sheet with 33 points, 13 rebounds, and five assists. Longtime Pacers center Myles Turner was booed throughout the game for signing a free-agent contract with Milwaukee. He was held to nine points, seven rebounds, and five blocked shots. The Bucks travel to Toronto for their next game tonight (Tuesday).

NEW YORK (AP) — Julius Randle had 19 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in his 15th career triple-double, and the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the winless Brooklyn Nets 125-109 on Monday night. Donte DiVincenzo scored 25 points, Jaden McDaniels finished with 22 and Rudy Gobert added 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who won their two straight. Randle had his first triple-double with the Wolves. Cam Thomas had 25 points and Nic Claxton chipped in 19 for the Nets, who fell to 0-7. The Nets opened the 2009-10 campaign with 18 straight losses while playing in New Jersey, two seasons before their move to Brooklyn.
(Madison, WI) — The Badgers blew a tight game wide open in a 96-64 runaway against Campbell Monday night. Wisconsin trailed by as many as five points before taking the lead for good midway through the first half. Guard John Blackwell led the way with 31 points, and Nick Boyd scored 21. Nolan Winter had a double-double with 17 points and a dozen rebounds. The Badgers led 67-62 before closing the game on a 29-2 run over the final seven-and-a-half minutes. Wisconsin welcomes Northern Illinois to the Kohl Center Friday.
(Milwaukee, WI) — Senior Chase Ross scored 15 points and added five steals as Marquette opened its season with an 80-53 win against Albany. The Golden Eagles led by nine points at halftime and started the second half on a 21-2 run. Zaide Lowery followed Ross’ output with 13 points, and Ben Gold grabbed eight rebounds. Marquette stays at home to take on Southern inside the Fiserv Forum Wednesday.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Newcomers Cade Tyson scored 30 points and Jaylen Crocker-Johnson had a double-double, giving new coach Niko Medved a victory in his Minnesota debut, 87-60 over Gardner-Webb. Tyson, who started his career at Belmont and played at North Carolina last season, was 8 of 12 shooting, his four misses coming in eight 3-point attempts, and went 10 of 12 from the foul line, to surpass 1,000 points for his career. Crocker-Johnson, who followed Medved from Colorado State, had 13 points and 14 rebounds. Langston Reynolds added 14 points off the bench on 6 of 8 shooting as the Golden Gophers shot 54.5%. Three reserves scored in double figures for the Runnin’ Bulldogs, led by Julius Clark with 13. Tyson had 17 points and Crocker-Johnson had a double-double as the Gophers raced to a 53-20 lead.
(Green Bay, WI) — The Packers will have to play the rest of the 2025 NFL season without their top offensive threat. Monday’s MRI has revealed that tight end Tucker Kraft suffered a torn ACL and won’t return this year. NFL Network reported the bad news. Kraft was injured shortly after halftime in Green Bay’s 16-13 upset loss to the Carolina Panthers Sunday. Tight end Luke Musgrave will assume a bigger role in the passing game, but Kraft’s injury is bad news for the Packers.
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin won’t have its leading rusher or starting center for the rest of the season. Badgers coach Luke Fickell announced Monday that running back Dilin Jones and center Jake Renfro had season-ending surgeries while Wisconsin was off last week. Fickell also said reserve safety Matthew Traynor has a torn ACL and is out for the season. Wisconsin carries a six-game skid into a home game Saturday with No. 24 Washington. Jones was dealing with turf toe. He has rushed for 300 yards and two touchdowns on 76 carries.
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff has declined a $20 million mutual option for 2026 in favor of a $10 million buyout and the two-time All-Star right-hander will become a free agent. Milwaukee says it exercised an $8 million team option on two-time All-Star Freddy Peralta, the final year in a contract that will be worth $30 million over seven seasons. The Brewers declined a $12 million mutual option on catcher Danny Jansen, who get a $500,000 buyout as part of a deal he signed with Tampa Bay that guaranteed $8.5 million.
SEATTLE (AP) — Obed Vargas scored early in the first half and late in the second to help the Seattle Sounders beat Minnesota United 4-2, forcing a deciding match in the best-of-three first-round series for the MLS Cup. Vargas got the scoring started with an unassisted goal in the 8th minute after the fifth-seeded Sounders played No. 4 seed Minnesota United to a scoreless draw in the opener before losing 3-2 on penalty kicks. The rubber match is Saturday in Minnesota.
