MILWAUKEE (AP) — Andrew Vaughn and Jackson Chourio each hit a three-run homer, William Contreras added a solo shot and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Chicago Cubs 7-3 to move one win from a trip to the National League Championship Series. The Brewers have a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-five Division Series, which shifts to Wrigley Field in Chicago for Game 3 on Wednesday. Milwaukee is attempting to win a postseason series for the first time since reaching the NLCS in 2018. Vaughn and Chourio hit the first two three-run homers in Brewers postseason history.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Blake Snell allowed one hit in six shutout innings, striking out nine, and the Los Angeles Dodgers barely turned back Philadelphia’s late rally for a 4-3 victory over the Phillies in Game 2 of their NL Division Series. Freddie Freeman made a game-saving defensive play at first base and Shohei Ohtani delivered an RBI single that helped the Dodgers take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five playoff. (Miami, FL) — The Bucks pushed the pace while winning their preseason opener Monday night in Miami, 103-93. That’s the plan for the upcoming season. Poor shooting kept the score down with Milwaukee connecting on just 13-of-41 3-pointers. All 20 Bucks who suited up saw some court time. Forward Pete Nance led the scoring with 15 points. The second preseason game is set for Thursday at home against the Detroit Pistons.

(Madison, WI) — Iowa may be missing its starting quarterback when it meets Wisconsin Saturday. Mark Gronowski is considered to be week-to-week after suffering an injured knee last week. The showdown for the Heartland Trophy looks like a must-win for coach Luke Fickell. It may be the Badgers’ best shot at a victory the rest of the 2025 season. Iowa is listed as a three-and-a-half-point favorite.

(Green Bay, WI) — The Packers could see a big threat return to the offensive lineup for the game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Speedy wide receiver Christian Watson took part in Monday’s practice after spending months recovering from knee surgery in January. Watson can be restored to the 53-man roster at any time over the next 21 days. He didn’t take any snaps in 11-on-11 snaps, with coaches limiting him to individual drills.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings showed again their hidden strength of being able to win close games in adverse conditions by beating the Cleveland Browns at the end of a difficult 10-day road trip. Carson Wentz went 9 for 9 for 71 yards and the go-ahead touchdown pass with 25 seconds left in the 21-17 victory that put the banged-up Vikings at 3-2 entering their much-needed bye week. The Vikings were without four starting offensive linemen down the stretch in London. Several other key players remained out with injuries as well. Minnesota hosts Philadelphia in Week 7.
