(Green Bay, WI) — The Packers offense centers around a consistent rushing attack, but that has been absent in the first three games. Head coach Matt LaFleur needs to find a way to get veteran running back Josh Jacobs going. Jacobs was held to 30 yards on 16 carries in Sunday’s upset loss to the Cleveland Browns. After a 13-hundred-yard season in 2024, he has produced just 180 yards on 58 carries. The Green Bay rushing attack is ranked 20th in the league.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings under coach Kevin O’Connell have been a pass-oriented team. They’ve leaned on his knack for quarterback development and play design and invested heavily in premier players at the pass-catching positions. But the Vikings have wisely begun to alter their identity this season. Their performance in blowing out Cincinnati 48-10 was led by a defense that forced five turnovers and enjoyed a record two return touchdowns by cornerback Isaiah Rodgers. Minnesota’s dominant day also included a strong rushing attack and an efficient, smart and opportunistic game by backup quarterback Carson Wentz.

Ireland has sent quite a few of its people to America over the years. The United States will be returning the favor this week. The Steelers-Vikings matchup at Croke Park in Dublin is expected to draw a larger-than-usual chunk of U.S.-based fans compared to other international games. It will be the first NFL regular-season game in Ireland, and all sides are hopeful it could lead to more. That would be good news for fans in the states, who have shown massive interest in this one. The NFL says there’s been a higher proportion of U.S. interest in this one compared to games in other markets.

(Milwaukee, WI) — If the Bucks plan to prove the critics wrong, they have to have prime-time production from sixth man Bobby Portis this season. The veteran will have to cover some of the lost points from Damian Lillard’s absence. Portis is known for his tip-ins and fadeaway shots. That offense was down last season. Bucks management is hoping the team hits more three-pointers this season. That’s where a lot of Portis’ tip-ins come from.

(Madison, WI) — The official kickoff time for the Wisconsin-Michigan game October 4th has been announced. The Badgers have a bye this week, then take on the Wolverines at a game starting at 11:00 a-m. Michigan is ranked 19th in this week’s poll. It also has a bye this Saturday. Wisconsin will be trying to bounce back from a crippling 27-10 upset loss to Maryland. The Wolverines edged the Nebraska Cornhuskers 30-27.
