(Milwaukee, WI) — A sacrifice fly off the bat of Isaac Collins gave the Brewers a 9-8 walk-off win over Arizona Tuesday night. Milwaukee had blown a six-run lead. Brice Turang and William Contreras led the 12-hit attack with homers. Shelby Miller got the win in relief after the rest of the bullpen surrendered five runs in less than three frames. Quinn Priester starts the third game of the four-game series tonight (Wednesday).
The series continues tonight. Pregame at 6:05pm. First pitch at 6:40pm on AM1240 & 96.5FM.

TORONTO (AP) — Mickey Gasper hit a game-tying home run in the ninth inning, Matt Wallner added a go-ahead homer and the Minnesota Twins rallied to beat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-5. Blue Jays closer Jeff Hoffman came on in the ninth with Toronto ahead 4-3, but Gasper greeted him with a game-tying home run, the first of his career. Four batters later, Wallner gave the Twins the lead with a two-run homer, his 20th. The blown save was Hoffman’s seventh in 35 chances. Hoffman has allowed 12 home runs this season.

(Green Bay, WI) — On a day when most of the attention was focused on NFL teams announcing their 53-man rosters, the Packers had other important business. Long-snapper Matt Orzech was signed to a three-year contract extension. Orzech has been Green Bay’s long snapper for the last two years. Packers-dot-com reports that he has performed flawlessly at an important position. The 30-year-old lineman was with the Los Angeles Rams when they won Super Bowl LVI (56) in 2022.

(Madison, WI) — Badgers coach Luke Fickell says his football team has so many leaders he isn’t going to name captains for the 2025 season. Fickell spoke with reporters Tuesday in his first game press conference. The coach says captains will be picked for each game so they can perform the usual duties. Then, at the end of the season, captains will be honored for their performance during the year. Wisconsin opens its season Thursday at home against Miami of Ohio.

(Minneapolis, MN) — Former Badger Joe Huber is known for his work ethic and for proving his doubters wrong. The latest example came Tuesday when the Minnesota Vikings included the offensive lineman on their final 53-man roster. Badger of Honor-dot-com reports that Huber was an undrafted free agent, but he was rated the best run blocker among rookies in the NFL preseason. Huber was dominant. Minnesota is expected to use him mainly as a depth option on the offensive line.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. wasn’t necessarily looking to stay in the Big Ten when he decided to leave Maryland and enter the transfer portal. It just worked out that way. Edwards is one of several potential Power Four starting quarterbacks who switched schools without switching conferences. Some other Power Four starting quarterbacks who previously played with a conference foe are Auburn’s Jackson Arnold, Kentucky’s Zach Calzada, Florida State’s Thomas Castellanos and Rutgers’ Athan Kaliakmanis. The list would grow if Oregon’s Dante Moore, Maryland’s Justyn Martin and Oklahoma State’s Hauss Hejny win their respective quarterback competitions.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Koi Perich has been taking regular turns at wide receiver in practice with Minnesota after a propitious debut at safety last year. He led the Big Ten and set the program freshman record with five interceptions in 2024. Perich was a second-team preseason AP All-America pick and could be the sport’s next two-way star following the departure of Travis Hunter to the NFL. Perich was also a productive punt and kickoff returner last year for the Gophers. Hunter didn’t even do that over his career at Jackson State and Colorado that ended with a Heisman Trophy in his hands.
