(Green Bay, WI) — Packers cornerback Keisean Nixon has been named to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career. He replaces Devon Witherspoon of the Seattle Seahawks. Witherspoon is playing in the Super Bowl. Nixon started all 17 games for Green Bay, piling up 72 total tackles, three tackles for loss, recovering a fumble, and intercepting one pass. That interception preserved the 28-21 victory over the Chicago Bears last December. Edge rusher Micah Parsons was also named to the team, but won’t be able to play due to an injury.
(Buffalo, NY) — Former Badgers defensive back and coach Jim Leonhard is expected to join the Buffalo Bills as defensive coordinator. ESPN calls him the leading candidate for the opening. Leonhard began his NFL playing career with the Bills after starring at Wisconsin. His only defensive coordinator experience was in Madison. He has served as defensive backs coach and defensive pass game coordinator the last two seasons for the Denver Broncos.
