MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Andrew Benintendi went 4 for 5 with two homers and five RBIs as the Chicago White Sox beat the Minnesota Twins 12-3. Kyle Teel and Lenyn Sosa also homered and Brooks Baldwin had three hits for the White Sox, who have won three in a row. Davis Martin (6-9) won his third straight decision, giving up three runs on six hits in six innings. Twins starter Simeon Woods Richardson struck out seven and gave up two earned run in five innings. In 39 career games at Target Field, Benintendi is hitting .344 with 11 home runs and 31 RBIs.
(Milwaukee, WI) — The Milwaukee Brewers are looking for Andruw Monasterio to prolong an 11-game hitting streak against the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday at American Family Field. Jose Quintana gets the start for the Brewers, who are 85-54 this season and first in the NL Central. Aaron Nola is expected to start for the Phillies, who are 80-58 and first in the NL East. Milwaukee Manager Pat Murphy has also shed more light on bullpen arm Shelby Miller’s injury he suffered Monday. Murphy says Miller “felt a pop”, and will undergo further testing to determine the extent of the issue.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Danny O’Neil transferred to Wisconsin understanding he likely would spend up to a year as a backup before getting a chance to start. O’Neil won’t have to wait nearly that long. Wisconsin coach Luke Fickell acknowledged Tuesday that quarterback Billy Edwards Jr.’s knee injury likely will prevent him from playing Saturday against Middle Tennessee. O’Neil is set to start in Edwards’ place. O’Neil started 11 games for San Diego State last year. Edwards left the Badgers’ season-opening 17-0 victory over Miami of Ohio on Thursday in the second quarter. O’Neil played the rest of the way.

(Madison, WI) — The No. 8 Wisconsin volleyball team returns to action this week for the Wisconsin Invitational, as they are set to take on a pair of non-conference opponents in UC Davis and Chicago State—making their first 2025 regular season appearance in the UW Field House. Thursday’s matchup against UC Davis will mark the first time that each program has faced each other. On Friday, UW will take on Chicago State for just the second time in team history. Last Friday, the Badgers defeated No. 14 Kansas in five sets at the Kohl Center to begin the Opening Spike Classic. The Badgers wrapped up the weekend on Sunday with a three-set loss to No. 5 Texas.
