MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — State aid for affordable housing around Wisconsin.

Governor Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority announced Thursday that over $2.5 million will be used to fund three new housing developments. The money provided by WHEDA’s Vacancy-to-Vitality and Infrastructure Access Loan Programs will support the building of more than 120 new workforce housing units in Madison, as well as Milwaukee and Chippewa counties.

The governor’s office says more than 1,000 workforce housing units statewide have been financed through the Vacancy-to-Vitality program. The announcement comes as the state celebrates Home Ownership Month.
