MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — The Republican candidate for governor dismisses the tax relief and education funding deal between Governor Tony Evers and Republican lawmakers.

Congressman Tom Tiffany was on WISN’s Benjamin Yount Show Tuesday:

“I would not vote for it. I think that Governor Evers has failed the people of the state of Wisconsin once again,” Tiffany said.

Tiffany says Democrats aren’t interested in real tax relief.

“They’re nickel and diming the taxpayers of the state of Wisconsin, and then they want to give them a little bit of money back, and this is ultimately where I have the objection. They give people a little bit of money back temporarily, but it is not long-term,” Tiffany said.

Democratic Madison lawmakers running for governor, Representative Francesca Hong and Senator Kelda Roys, also oppose what they’re calling a backroom deal between Evers and Republican leaders.
