RICE LAKE, Wis. (WJMC) — More information about the fire at the King Edward Inn apartment building in Rice Lake Tuesday afternoon, May 26.

Rice Lake Fire Department said the fire was reported just after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, with a caller reporting smoke coming from an apartment. Residents evacuated from the building and three were assisted by firefighters. The fire was under control before 4 p.m. There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire was ruled accidental in nature. No damage estimate was available. One resident was displaced by the fire, but the rest of the units are habitable, according to the fire department.

More information about the fire at a residence in the 900 block of Linden Avenue on May 12. The fire burned a porch and spread to the rest of the structure. A cause of the fire and damage estimate was not known. One firefighter was injured during the incident, and was treated and released at the scene.
