GRANTSBURG, Wis. (WJMC) — A 10-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle and later died at the hospital.
Burnett County Sheriff Tracy Finch said the incident happened just before noon on Sunday in the Burnett Dairy Cooperative parking lot, east of Grantsburg. The girl was airlifted to a Twin Cities hospital where she died. Her name was not released.
The driver was 85-year-old Philip Schmidt, of Grantsburg. The sheriff said the incident was under investigation, but said it appeared to be accidental in nature.
