MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — Today is National Breast Cancer Research day, and some researchers are voicing concerns about what federal funding cuts might bring.
Dr. Amy Trentham-Dietz is a cancer epidemiologist at the UW Carbone Cancer Center in Madison.
“Many colleagues across the country where their grants have been stopped early, where there have been long delays, where their grants have been pulled from review, so really at all stages of research. And so it is very serious across the country what’s happening,” said Trentham-Dietz.
Trentham-Dietz says lack of funding can lead to delays on critical research into breast cancer treatments.
