The Battle of the Alamo comes to an end

On this day in US history, the Battle of the Alamo came to a brutal end after 13 days of fighting on March 6, 1836. Roughly 200 Texans died while trying to defend against 1,000 Mexican soldiers, capping off an important moment in the Texas Revolution.
