Events should be of community, cultural or entertainment interest. Commercial or advertorial events will be omitted, excluding station promoted events (Party in Paradise, Lovin’ the Lake, Ultimate Deer Hunt, etc. are acceptable). Event posts are free, but they are not free commercials. Expect some alterations to fit style or formatting. We reserve the right to refuse an event.

We accept events from:

— Bona fide not-for-profit organizations. Chambers of commerce, civic organizations, churches and religious organizations, public libraries, schools, etc.

— Benefits. Benefits for medical expenses, school trips, etc. Including passive benefits (example: Eat here and 10% of bill go to a cause. Calendar settings limit announcement to one day.)

— Community celebrations (examples: Aquafest events, Chetek Liberty Fest, Haugen Fun Days)

— Entertainment: Concerts, live productions like plays and musicals, trivia nights, open mics, bingo nights.

— Station-promotions. Party in Paradise, Lovin’ the Lake, Ultimate Deer Hunt events and remotes are accepted.

— Craft shows, farmers markets, vendor fairs

— Community dinners (church dinners, school spaghetti feeds, etc)

— Outdoor activities and sports. (5k runs, hikes, fishing contests, local sporting or racing events)

— Political rallys, campaigns

We do not accept:

— Garage sales not affiliated with a charitable cause or benefit (advise to call in to AM1240’s Time to Trade, if still airing 10:15-10:30a M-W-F).

— Events of commercial nature (sales, discounts, specials, marketing campaigns without charitable benefit). Advise them to contact a sales person.

— Events not open to the public.

— Regular organizational meetings.

— Raffles or ongoing events without a specific place and time.

Where/how to submit events:

— Minimum info needed: Descriptive title; 2-4 sentence description; photo (with rights to use); date and time; and venue and address. If available: cost info; website; and organizer, contact info.
