RICE LAKE, Wis. (WJMC) — A local cafe has reopened.
A fire in October 2024 burned down the home of Cheese Louise Sandwiches and Agonic Brewing Company. A new building has been built to house the two businesses at the same location on Lakeview Drive, in Rice Lake. Pat Kelly, owner of Cheese Louise, says the menu is expanding with the new, larger space and a new kitchen.
“All brand new, everything, hoods. We got the same old griddle that’ll cook the sandwiches just like we used to. We got a deep fryer now so we can do all sorts of deep fried good stuff. We’re doing fries right now. Soon we’ll be doing cheese curds and all the kind of good snackable stuff,” Kelly said. “I just want to say thank you to everyone who waited around and came in these first couple days to show us what we’ve been missing.”
It reopened May 1. The current hours are Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. A joint grand opening for the brewery and the sandwich shop is set for June 6.
