MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — A Wisconsin disability advocate says Medicaid cuts could leave people with disabilities facing impossible choices.
At the Capitol in Madison after a 125-mile wheelchair ride from the Fox Valley, Carl Schulze says reductions in home care services could threaten independent living.
“That means people like me may soon be forced to choose between our physical health or living the rest of our lives in a facility. That’s not freedom. That’s more like a slow bureaucratic form of imprisonment,” Schulze said.
Schulze joined other advocates urging state leaders to protect programs that help people remain in their homes and communities.
