MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — Wisconsin’s domestic cyclosporiasis cases nearly double.

Officials with Wisconsin’s Department of Health reported as of mid week, Wisconsin had 216 cases which includes 94 domestic infections, which involves people who did not travel outside the U.S. Last week, the deparment reported 50 domestic cases.

Also in the past week, two additional hospitalizations were reported in Wisconsin, bringing the total number of hospitalizations in the state to 5. During a typical cyclospora season, Wisconsin sees between 20 and 30 domestically acquired cases.
