CHETEK, Wis. (NWN) — Construction work to rehab the Long Bridge in Chetek starts Monday, Aug. 3.
The Wisconsin DOT announced Tuesday the governor approved the $2.39 million project with Lunda Construction, of Black River Falls.
Work includes resurfacing the deck, repairing the bridge sidewalk, piers and parapet, replacing asphalt on the entrances to the bridge, painting the girders and other curb, gutter and sidewalk work.
The bridge will remain open to traffic with single-lane and flagging operations with traffic signals. Motorists should expect delays.
Boat traffic beneath the bridge will also remain open.
The project will be competed by late October.
