(Milwaukee, WI) — It’s starting to look like the Bucks “won” the NBA trade deadline by picking up 22-year-old forward Ousmane Dieng. Heavy-dot-com reports that he came from the Oklahoma Thunder as part of a three-team trade. After just three games, he’s earned a start and has been showing an impressive shooting touch, connecting on half of his 3-pointers, while scoring a combined 36 points the last two times out. He will likely be a solid complement to Giannis Antetokounmpo when the superstar returns.

(Milwaukee, WI) — The Brewers are just like Rodney Dangerfield, apparently. They get no respect. Multiple projections have them finishing third in the National League Central during the 2026 season. Veteran outfielder Christian Yelich tells MLB-dot-com: “It’s the same story every year,” saying Brewers players, “Just don’t care.” It’s worked in the past. If they claim another division title, it will be the fourth in four years.

FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) — Minnesota Twins right-hander Pablo López ended a bullpen session early over what manager Derek Shelton said was “a little bit of elbow soreness.” López threw two-plus innings before shutting things down. He was considered ahead of schedule in preparations to join Venezuela for the World Baseball Classic. Lopez turns 30 next month. He has been the opening day starter for the Twins the past three seasons. Lopez was limited to 75 2/3 innings last year due to injuries.

(Green Bay, WI) — There’s no disputing the talent on the Packers’ roster, but the team still lost its last five games. The problem is that the front office doesn’t have many resources moving forward. NFL-dot-com reports that Green Bay is 22nd in salary cap space and 29th in draft pick capital. The Packers don’t have a draft choice until number-52. Right now, the team is over the salary cap but this isn’t the first time general manager Brian Gutekunst has had to deal with a situation like that.

MILAN (AP) — The United States and Canada will face off for Olympic gold for a seventh time since women’s hockey debuted at the 1998 Nagano Games in a border rivalry that never gets old. And this time, the Americans are the favorites at the Milan Cortina Games. The U.S. clinched its berth with a 5-0 win over Sweden in semifinal play. And the defending champion Canadians followed with Marie-Philip Poulin scoring twice to set the Olympic career goal record in a too-close-for-comfort 2-1 victory over Switzerland. The outcomes set up the latest showdown between the sport’s global powers in the gold medal final on Thursday.

CORTINA D’AMPEZZO, Italy (AP) — Elana Meyers Taylor has won her first Olympic gold in women’s monobob, and she made history as the oldest American woman to do it at the Winter Games. She rallied in the final heat at the Milan Cortina Games and dropped to her knees in tears. Germany’s Laura Nolte took silver. Kaillie Humphries Armbruster took bronze for the United States. Meyers Taylor already owned five Olympic medals, but she had never won gold. Her sixth medal ties Bonnie Blair for the most by a U.S. woman at the Winter Games. Kaysha Love finished seventh.
