(Champaign, IL) — Wisconsin’s second overtime game in four days ended much better. For the second time this season, the Badgers upset a top 10 team when they edged number-eight Illinois 92-90. The Illini had an eight-point edge with eight minutes left Tuesday night, but couldn’t hold it. Guards Nick Boyd and John Blackwell scored nine of Wisconsin’s 11 points in the extra frame. Boyd finished with 25, and Blackwell had 24. Wisconsin has two wins in five games against ranked opponents and is scheduled to host number-10 Michigan State Friday night.
(Bryn Mawr, PA) — When a 3-pointer at the overtime buzzer was off the mark, it cost Marquette a 77-74 defeat Tuesday night at Villanova. A 26-point, 11-rebound effort by Royce Parham was wasted in the loss. Adrien Stevens scored 18. The Golden Eagles’ record falls to 9-and-16, including 4-and-10 in the Big East. They play on the road at Xavier Saturday.
(Orlando, FL) — The Bucks play the Orlando Magic for the second time in three days when they take the court tonight (Wednesday). Orlando won the first Florida meeting Monday 118-99. Milwaukee coach Doc Rivers tells reporters he’s hoping to see more fight from his players in the second game of the brief series. Rivers says the Magic “were the more physical team” Monday. Orlando is trying to claim its third straight win over the Bucks. Milwaukee had previously dominated the series for several years, winning 19 out of 21.

Listings of games and further information will be released as the season grows closer.
CORTINA D’AMPEZZO, Italy (AP) — Sweden’s brother-and-sister team of Isabella and Rasmus Wranå won gold in mixed doubles curling at the Milan Cortina Olympics, beating the United States in the final on Tuesday night. The Wranås won 6-5 over Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin, who became the first Americans to medal in Olympic mixed doubles. Thiesse is the first American woman to medal in Olympic curling. The Wranå siblings grew up as rivals and were coached by their father, Mats Wranå. They’re Sweden’s first sibling team at the Olympics. Italy’s Stefania Constantini and Amos Mosaner won bronze, defeating Britain 5-3.
MILAN (AP) — Ilia Malinin has silenced any doubters of the self-styled “Quad God.” The American wunderkind threw down a near-perfect short program filled with high-flying jumps and a jaw-dropping backflip to take a big lead at the Milan Cortina Olympics. The two-time reigning world champion was rewarded with 108.16 points for his program. Yuma Kagiyama of Japan was second with 103.07 points, but that five-point difference going into the free skate is enormous given the huge technical advantage Malinin has over a longer program. Adam Siao Him Fa of France, the last skater to beat Malinin more than two years ago, was third with 102.55 points.
