WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP / WRN) — The Supreme Court has extended an order blocking full SNAP payments.
The high court’s decision Tuesday came amid signals that the government shutdown could soon end and food aid payments resume — though exactly when is unknown.
Wisconsin has pushed through assistance to it’s FoodShare program, which is funded through SNAP. The Trump Administration told Evers to rescind those payment, which Evers said, “No.”
“The card should be 100% and that’s what exactly what we did and the fact that they’re trying to claw that back, that’s embarrassing. That’s embarrassing for any president,” Evers said.
The Supreme Court’s hold keeps in place at least for a few more days a chaotic situation. Previously, a federal judge ordered full payments for November, but the Supreme Court issued a hold on that order and has extended the hold through Thursday at midnight.
