LADYSMITH, Wis. (WJMC) — A teacher at Ladysmith schools has been arrested for allegedly sending a student an explicit photo.
Ladysmith Police said 28-year-old Kayla A. Vavra, of Ladysmith, was arrested on preliminary charges of exposing a child to harmful material and intimidation of a victim. A 15-year-old student told police that during the summer Vavra and the student began communicating via social media, and that Vavra sent an explicit image of herself to them.
Vavra, who works as a second grade teacher, was interviewed on Thursday and allegedly admitted to sending the photo of herself to the student.
Vavra was booked in the Rusk County Jail and later bonded out. Official charges are pending from the district attorney’s office.
