MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — Improving access to mental health care in rural Wisconsin is a priority in the state’s new action plan.
Department of Health Services Secretary Kirsten Johnson says technology will play a key role in making sure geography doesn’t determine whether someone can get help.
“we are thinking about what are the technologies we can leverage to ensure that people have better access to care, especially in our rural communities when we think about telehealth and other pieces that can be stood up that improve access no matter where you are in Wisconsin,” Johnson said.
State leaders say expanding telehealth will be critical to closing access gaps.
