BARRON, Wis. (NWN) — A phone scam alert from the Barron County Sheriff’s Department.
The department was getting reports from residents about calls after their or a family member’s arrest. The likely scammers claimed to be from the sheriff’s department, and offered courses before a court date to impress a judge.
The sheriff’s department said these courses do not exist and this is a scam.
A reminder to never give out personal information or banking information to these types of calls.
