CAMERON, Wis. (WJMC) — A 38-year-old Cameron woman died in a single-vehicle crash south of Cameron on Wednesday evening.
Barron County Sheriff Jodi Kummet said the crash was reported just before 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday, at the intersection of 21st Street and County Highway SS.
The sheriff said the woman, who has not been named, was driving north on 21st Street and lost control while crossing the railroad crossing. Her vehicle crossed the intersection and struck trees in the ditch along 21st Street, north of County Highway SS.
The driver was the only occupant. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash was under investigation by the sheriff’s department and medical examiner’s office.
