CHETEK, Wis. (WJMC) — A Chetek man and golf course owner is running to represent the 67th Assembly District.
28-year-old Indiana Thompson, announced his candidacy earlier this month. He graduated from UW-Stout and has owned the Pine Crest Golf Course, in Dallas, since 2021. He and his wife live in Chetek, where he grew up. Thompson said he aims to harness local talent, empower young people, support small business and create a stronger, vibrant community for all residents. He has not listed a party affiliation.
Thompson is holding a campaign launch party on Sunday, from 4 until 7 p.m. at The Chetek Community Center to meet with and hear from residents.
The district is currently represented by Republican Dave Armstrong, from Rice Lake.
