CHETEK, Wis. (WJMC) — The City of Chetek is connecting its new water tower to the public water supply Thursday.

Chetek Mayor Jeff Martin says it was moved back a day for one final test of the system. But tomorrow, residents on the city water supply should expect an increase in water pressure.

“You know we don’t know what is going to happen when they flip the switch, or whatever they do to turn the thing on. Are people going to be blown over over in their showers, Kramer-style in Seinfeld? I hope not,” Martin said. “They are just telling people, we are turning it on. Just be aware, you know.”

The new water tower was built by the city to increase water pressure to meet demands for a new residential development and in the city’s industrial parks.

Any water customers who experience problems should contact the Chetek City Hall at 715-924-4838.
