MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — Schools across Wisconsin can get a cow of their own through the Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin’s Adopt a Cow program.
Community Programs Manager Erika Schade says the program uses the dairy industry to help teach students in other subjects.
“There’s a lot of teachers who work in the lessons and how the calf is being raised into reading and writing and even math lessons. So it’s a fun way to be able to take dairy and really intertwine it with everyday lessons,” Schade said.
