MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development is highlighting how the federal government shutdown is impacting Wisconsin workers.

DWD Secretary Amy Pechacek says certain foreign work visas aren’t being processed.

“December, January are typically the highest months that we see requests for H2A visa certifications from our agricultural producers. Depending on how long the shutdown goes, that could mean that our agricultural industries are not able to obtain those certifications,” Pechacek said.

Thursday marked the 16th day of the federal government shutdown.
