MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — Democratic Governor Tony Evers says he has no intention of turning over Wisconsin’s voter rolls to the Trump Administration.
On WISN’s UPFRONT, Evers says the White House has no business asking for that information.
“Sending that off to Washington, D.C is going to put Donald Trump in charge of our elections and I tell you, whether you’re Republican or Democrat, that’s the last thing you want,” Ever said.
Evers says Wisconsin has the responsibility to handle its own elections. The Trump Administration wants to enact a nationwide voter registry and require a voter ID for all elections. Critics say it’s an attempt to disenfranchise people from voting.
