TWIN CITIES, Minn. (NWN) — An extreme heat warning mid morning through midnight tonight.
The National Weather Service says dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 110 degrees are expected for West Central Wisconsin, including Barron, Burnett, Chippewa, Dunn, Polk, St. Croix and Washburn counties. Heat warnings with heat index values up to 105 degrees are expected for Rusk and St. Croix counties from midmorning to late tonight.
Heat-related illnesses, like heat exhaustion and heat stroke, are at increased risk.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in air conditioned spaces, stay out of the sun and check on relatives and neighbors. Also do not leave pets or children in vehicles.
