Another proposed amendment to the Wisconsin Constitution.

Freshman Democrats in the Wisconsin Legislature are calling for the constitution to be amended to include explicit protection for the fundamental right to privacy.

“What we’re seeing at the federal level is the government acting with impunity and running roughshod over the law and the Constitution. And as a result, people are being harmed and even killed,” said Sun Prairie Representative Andrew Hysell.

Hysell sees this as an issue that could get support from Republicans. Like all amendments to the state Constitution, this would require approval in two consecutive legislative sessions and in a statewide vote.
