LA CROSSE, Wis. (WRN) — Celebrating a landmark anniversary for a Wisconsin-based business.

Governor Tony Evers declared Monday Kwik Trip Day in Wisconsin, marking the 60th anniversary of the fuel and convenience store chain. The very first Kwik Trip opened in Eau Claire on June 16th of 1965. The La Crosse-headquartered company currently serves close to 12 million customers at nearly 900 locations throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest.

It’s also been recognized by Forbes Magazine as one of the nation’s Top 100 best large employers.
