RICE LAKE, Wis. (WJMC) — Wisconsin’s 9-day gun deer season opens Saturday.

Shooting hours begin at 6:46 a.m. and end at 4:49 p.m. for the Rice Lake area.

The DNR reminds hunters to wear blaze orange and anyone going into the woods or fields to also wear high-vis clothing.

Authorities ask hunters to submit samples from their harvests for CWD testing. Those that have a positive sample will get another harvest tag.
