MENOMONIE, Wis. (WRN) — A high-speed chase across four counties ended with a crash and four people injured on Monday.

Dunn County Sheriff Kevin Bygd said the State Patrol and local law enforcement officers were pursuing a vehicle speeding on on I-94 through Jackson, Trempealeau, Eau Claire and Dunn counties. Reaching speeds of 140 mph and weaving in and out of traffic, troopers terminated the chase for safety, and officers tracked the vehicle as it traveled west into Dunn County.

Sheriff’s deputies deployed three sets of tire deflation devices. Just east of Menomonie, the vehicle lost control and collided with a pickup, sending both vehicles into the ditch. The driver, 24-year-old Hussain Imam, of Skokie, Illinois, was treated for injuries and arrested.

Imam’s passenger, a 27-year-old woman from Fort Meyers, Florida, and the pickup driver, a 50-year-old woman, and passenger, a 10-year-old girl, both from Minnesota, all suffered minor injuries.

Imam was held on charges of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, fleeing officers, three counts of reckless driving with injury, possession of THC with intent to deliver, and possession of firearm enhancer. He also was cited with traffic tickets in Dunn and Jackson counties.
