CUMBERLAND, Wis. (WJMC) — A project to resurface Highway 63, in Cumberland, has been approved.
The $3.64 million project was approved by Gov. Tony Evers and announced yesterday. New asphalt will be placed from Highway 63 and Charrie Lane, on the north side of Cumberland, through the city, to the west intersection of Highway 63 and Highway 48.
The road will remain open to traffic and pedestrians during construction, but motorists will see single-lane closures in the third and final phase of construction.
Construction starts Monday, April 28, and be completed in mid-September.
The contractor, Monarch Paving, of Amery, is hosting a preconstruction meeting for the public on Tuesday, April 22, at the Cumberland City Hall, from 4:30 until 6 p.m., to discuss the project, the schedule and traffic impacts.
