MADISON, Wis. (WRN) — The Wisconsin Department of Natural resources stresses hunters knowing their target this deer bow hunting season.

Elk Zone Biologist Christina Kizewski says keep any eye out for elk.

“Elk are typically quite a bit larger than adult deer. Elk are about one to two feet taller than adult deer at that shoulder height. An elk calf, however, would be at this time of year about the same size as an adult white tailed doe. But they do display different coloration,” Kizewski said.
